Additional teaching and research facilities are located at the Emmons Blaine Dairy Cattle Research Center located in Arlington, Wisconsin, just 15 miles north of Madison. Here, another 150 milking cows plus dry cows, heifers, and calves are also available for use by faculty and students in Dairy Science.

Lactating animals are housed in both freestalls and tie-stalls/ stanchions at this facility. The Blaine Dairy Center has a Boumatic double six herringbone milking parlor equipped with automatic cow identification, takeoffs, and production recording. Several breeds are represented at the Dairy Science facilities, including Brown Swiss, Jerseys, and Holsteins. The rolling herd average for the Dairy Science herd is well above 22,000 lbs of milk.
